LECTURE OVERVIEW

This course is designed for young men and women who are entering the work force or going off to college. The freedom, responsibility, and anticipation of this new environment can be exciting and fun or overwhelming and dangerous. Andre Salvage and Associates, Inc. has developed this course to share with each participant some of the necessary tools to enter this life change intuitively, wisely, and confidently.

  • Developing a safety plan for adult living
  • Dating safety
  • Alternatives to pseudo-macho behavior and violence
  • Dangerous attitudes and beliefs that we bring to collage
  • How to avoid and handle aggressive behavior
  • Understanding rejection
  • Understanding sexual assaults
  • Myths and realities of relationships
  • Understanding date or acquaintance rape
  • Listening to your intuition
  • Educating friends, parents, teachers on how to treat you, with out disrespect to others
  • De-escalating problems
  • Hearing someone's assertiveness, without becoming defensive or hurt

    LECTURE OUTCOME

    When we send our children off to college, we send them to get an education, not to be a victim of violence. Each participate will come away from this lecture with an awareness of the dangers that persist and the tools to avoid and stop someone from harming them.
