LECTURE OVERVIEW

During the teen years there are special concerns and dangers that young women will face that include, not always having a clear idea of others intent, peoples reactions to their physical development, and feeling conflict about trying to please their friends, parents, and themselves.

Unrefined communication skills, can leave a young woman vulnerable and open to unsafe and dangerous situations. Approaching these fears honestly and safely is the goal of this lecture.

LECTURE OUTLINE

Awareness:

  • Why people say and do inappropriate things.
  • How to objectively view friends, relatives, and strangers so you are not pulled by what others do or say.
  • Recognizing when someone is "testing the waters".
  • Self-esteem and self-worth.

    Assertiveness:

  • Learning to set boundaries.
  • Educating friends, parents, and teachers on how to treat you without being disrespectful.
  • Speaking up when something is wrong.
  • Bringing attention to uncomfortable situations (screaming if necessary).

    LECTURE OUTCOME

In a safe environment Andre Salvage and Associates, Inc. will share with teenage girls the ability to educate someone on how to treat them, no matter what the situation. This lecture will not cause young women to become paranoid, but rather become objectively aware of the dangers that exist and give them real life tools to handle threatening situations.
