| In 30% of all assaults, a weapon is used. This Advanced Class is a continuation of the principles and skills acquired in the beginning Assault Prevention seminar. You will learn how to defend yourself against an attacker with a knife or gun; as well as multiple attackers. Although the thought of weapons and multiple attackers can seem overwhelming, in a safe and empowering environment, we will de-myth this fear, share real life skills, and leave the class with a confident knowledge of how to defend yourself if this does occur. To truly be effective, intuition, awareness, and assertiveness must also be reviewed and practiced. COURSE OUTLINE Awareness

- Quieting your fears
- Knowing whether the threat of the weapon is real
- Using your surroundings as weapons
Assertiveness
- Asking questions, making suggestions
- What to say (what not to say), when there is a weapon
- De-escalating situations
- Using your voice as a weapon
Self Defense
- Attacking when necessary
- Defense tactics against a gun and knife
- Defense against multiple attackers
- Positioning yourself and your attacker for an escape and defense
